Required Hockey Equipment

Players are required to wear proper protective equipment: hockey skates, helmets with face guards, gloves, breezers, shoulder pads, elbow pads, and shin pads. The club offers equipment rental at a substantially reduced cost. Skates and sticks may be purchased from several retail outlets.

Polar Caps Jerseys and Uniforms

House Teams

Polar Caps jerseys are provided by the club for players in our In- House groups: LTP, Cross Ice 6U, and Red White Blue 8U. Jerseys are handed out at the beginning of the season.

Travel Teams

Players on our travel Squirt / Girls 10U, Pee Wee / Girls 12U, and Bantam 14U teams are required to wear a Polar Caps uniform consisting of:

• White helmet
• Black gloves
• Black breezers
• Polar Caps game jerseys and matching game socks

New Travel team players will purchase and keep Polar Caps game jerseys and socks after registration. Returning Travel team players have the option to purchase replacement Polar Caps game jerseys and/or socks after registration.

Equipment Returns:

If you still need to turn in rental equipment, please contact us to arrange a time at equipment@westmadisonpolarcaps.com

Please place all equipment being returned in the bag received from the Polar Caps or in a large heavy duty garbage bag. All returns will be done in the parking lot at Madison Ice Arena so that you do not have to enter the rink.

Equipment Rentals:

We are making hockey equipment available for rental for the 2024-2025 season from the Polar Caps. Equipment typically includes shoulder pads, shin pads, elbow pads, breezers (hockey pants), gloves, and helmet. Note that sticks and skates are not provided with rental equipment.

Rental fee is $50 and equipment deposit is $50.
